For too long, computer users have suffered from poor documentation produced by unstructured methods. We aim to change that. The Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is based on sound principles, honed by practical experience. Many organisations already benefit from using DITA for their documentation but it could help many more. The mission of dita4all is to extend the range of organisations that can benefit from using DITA by:
Making DITA easier to use
Extending the range of applications
Providing free tutorials and reference material
Lowering the true total cost of ownership
Promoting the DITA Content Collaboration project
Large and small organisations alike will benefit from the open source free software we are helping to create. By lowering the financial and technical barriers to adoption of DITA we believe that adoption will be rapidly accelerated, creating far better documentation at lower cost.
We have ambitious goals but our previous experience of co-operative ventures gives us great confidence in achieving them. We already have a very experienced team of volunteers to work on these exciting projects. If you would like to join the team, please get in touch with dmorrison [at] dita4all [dot] com.
